Nanjibhai Kalidas Mehta
Our Inspiration
Nanjibhai Kalidas Mehta was born at Gorana village near Porbandar in the state of Gujarat in India on the Second Day of Margshirsh of Vikram Samvat 1944, of the Hindu Calendar corresponding to 17th November, 1887. Driven by a spirit of adventure, he set sail to the beckoning shores of Africa at the tender age of 13 in the year 1901. After an apprenticeship with a trader and within a short period of one year he started his own small business.
Foundation for Better Future
Every evening, the sound of vedic hymns resonates through the air in the coastal town of Porbandar. Trace these chants and you land in Arya Kanya Gurukul English Medium School, a sprawling 90 acre campus where hundreds of girls are imbibing a multi-faceted education. It is a unique institution, where conventional learning, strongly supported by the use of information technology, goes hand in hand with the values that will enable the girls to be custodians of India’s rich cultural heritage. For more than seven decades school has been offering its students a tranquil setting in which to learn and develop their individual talents.

Set amidst sylvan surroundings, the Arya Kanya Gurukul complex is a unique organization dedicated to female education since last more than 8 decades.
We offer our students to choose any combination of subjects from Arts & Commerce streams with one language and any four electives with a choice of PHYSICAL EDUCATION as a sixth subject.
The focus of ARYA KANYA GURUKUL- EM is imparting learning to students in a natural surrounding where the girls are disciplined & take essential teachings in subjects like language, Science, Mathematics through group discussions, self-learning etc.
Not only this, but the focus is also given on ARTS, SPORTS, CRAFTS, DANCE, MUSIC that can develop their intelligence & critical thinking.
Activities such as YOGA, MEDITATION, MANTRA CHANTING etc. are an integral part of our school education system which generate positivity in students and makes them fit.
It is mandatory for our girls to do daily chores on own with a motive to impart practical skills in them.
All these unique features of our organization help our girls in the Personality Development and increase their CONFIDENCE,SENSE OF DISCIPLINE, INTELLECT & MINDFULNESS which is necessary even today to face the World that lay ahead.

Overall, the idea of inculcating a Gurukul System is just to assist the children in understanding the concept of a balanced life.
